To the Editor: We, the members of the JAMA International Advisory Committee, have grave misgivings regarding the dismissal of George Lundberg, MD, from his position as editor of JAMA.1

E. Ratcliffe Anderson, Jr, MD, the executive vice president (EVP) of the American Medical Association (AMA), summarily dismissed Lundberg after he published an article concerning the definition of "having sex" by American university students.2
