In Reply: The 103 patients in our study included 65 with chest pain, 27 with acute pulmonary edema, and 11 with cardiac arrest. The sensitivity of the ECG algorithm was 6% in patients with chest pain, with a 95% confidence interval (CI) of 1% to 27%. The accuracy of this estimate is supported by the work of Kontos et al1 who found a similar estimate for the low sensitivity of the algorithm of Dr Sgarbossa and colleagues.
