In Reply: We are delighted to learn that HCFA is taking steps to establish a formal and objective health technology assessment process that will take into account the often conflicting interest (and self-interests) of all parties involved. We look forward to learning details of the process and to witnessing its eventual impact on the adoption and coverage of health technologies for the Medicare program.
