To the Editor: Dr Ang-Lee and colleagues1 state that patients who use herbal therapies may be more likely to avoid seeking conventional diagnosis and treatment. Some surveys, however, reveal that patients who use althernative therapies most often do so for chronic conditions for which they have already seen their conventional physician.2,3 This makes it all the more pressing to inquire regularly into the use of these therapies.
