In Reply: Both glucosamine and GH have been associated with glucose intolerance. We appreciate these comments, which complement our review. The intention of our article was to highlight some of the more widely prescribed agents that have been associated with hyperglycemia, rather than to provide an exhaustive review. The use of glucosamine, in particular, has become more prevalent, and further studies of its potential effects on glucose metabolism are warranted.
