To the Editor: Dr Roquilly and colleagues evaluated the efficacy of corticosteroids in the treatment of hospitalized patients with severe trauma.1 Despite a significant reduction in hospital-acquired pneumonia and duration of mechanical ventilation in the treatment group, we believe that there are several shortcomings that preclude the prompt incorporation of this strategy into clinical practice.
