When the researchers disrupted p53 activation in adipose tissue, mice experienced less inflammation, reduced insulin resistance, and less heart dysfunction.
The results indicate that inhibition of p53-induced adipose inflammation is a potential target for treating metabolic abnormalities and cardiac dysfunction in patients with heart failure.
