Veterans and Bad Drinking Water

JAMA. 2012;307(14):1476. doi:10.1001/jama.2012.415

Marine veterans, and their families, who were stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina at any time from 1957 to 1985 may have been exposed to chemical contaminants in their drinking water. Rep Jeff Miller (R, Fla), chairman of the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs, wants the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to treat those who may have become ill from exposure to the contaminated water.
