In Reply.—Dr Wallace and I clearly hold incompatible views about the nature and causation of CFS, and JAMA has space for both views. There is no need for Wallace to be perplexed and disappointed.

First, she chooses to contrast my review, correctly described as a "subjective treatise," with the publication in JAMA of an article by Bou-Holaigah and colleagues.1Although Wallace describes this article as scholarly, the study suffers from substantial selection bias.
