Reducing Maternal Morbidity

JAMA. 2012;307(19):2017. doi:10.1001/jama.2012.4492

Programs addressing safe motherhood generally have focused on reducing maternal mortality, an important goal. However, as the report's authors point out, the causes and consequences of maternal morbidity have received less attention.
