Abstract

Public Health Service Officers Sent to Finland  Dr. Vance B. Murray, recently stationed in Berlin, and Dr. Herbert A. Spencer, who has been in Paris, have been dispatched by the U. S. Public Health Service to Finland at the request of the Finnish Red Cross, the New York Times reported December 22. It was believed that Finnish authorities feared the introduction of typhus as a result of the Russian invasion, although no information was given that the disease had broken out.

Examination for Appointments in Army Medical Corps  The War Department announces an examination March 18-22, both dates inclusive, for appointments as first lieutenant in the Medical Corps, U. S. Army, to fill vacancies occurring during the remainder of this fiscal year. The examination is open to all male graduates of acceptable medical schools in the United States and Canada who have completed one year's internship in an approved hospital
