Abstract

Internships in Public Health Service Hospitals  The United States Public Health Service announces that applications will be received for appointments as second year interns. Those eligible are physicians not over 30 years old who have graduated from accredited medical colleges and who have or will have completed by next June one year's internship at an approved hospital. Appointments will be offered immediately to be effective on or shortly after July 1 or sooner if vacancies exist and applicants are available. No written examination is required. It is especially desired to receive applications from physicians who are interested in the public health service as a career. Appointments will be made with the understanding that an opportunity will be afforded to take the next examination provided for by regulations for appointments as assistant surgeon.
