The first volume of the Neuroradiology Workshop contained case presentations and discussions of lesions in the scalp, skull, and meninges. The present volume, dealing with intracranial tumors other than meningiomas, has a framework similar to that of the first volume. Following a short introduction, the different types of brain tumors are discussed in detail.
The text for the most part reproduces the discussions of conferences at the Montefiore Hospital. This type of presentation carries the risk of certain repetitions. However, it is enjoyable to read the quick exchange of ideas, the discussions, and occasional disagreements between the various members of the conference. The radiological aspect of the lesions is emphasized, although integrated with the clinical, pathological, and surgical aspects. The reader may disagree with certain points but the volume is not intended as a didactic textbook. It conveys the experience and ideas of a single group of highly qualified individuals.
