Abstract

This volume deals with the administrative task of building the largest medical corps in history. Problems of procurement, utilization of personnel, and demobilization are described with scholarly thoroughness and objectivity. Of particular interest is the chapter on rank, promotion, and pay, discussing the Army's approach to these touchy issues.
