Abstract

To the Editor:—  May attention has been drawn to letters in The Journal of Nov 23, 1963 (186:805) commenting on a news item entitled "Radiotherapy Belongs to History," which appeared in The Journal (186, Oct 26, 1963, adv p 35).I do not know where you obtained the information for your news item. This paper has never been published with my authority or consent.This paper was read at the Medical Congress in Johannesburg in July, 1963, but not by myself. My original lecture was to have been a slide demonstration with a draft to assist me in commenting on my slides, and it was not in any way fit or meant for publication. Unfortunately I was taken ill the night before and was not able to present it myself. In spite of my requesting that the lecture be canceled, the draft was given to someone to read without
