Scientific Honors To Be Given at Dinner

Abstract

The second annual reception and dinner honoring scientific award winners at the American Medical Association Annual Convention will be held Wednesday evening, June 24. at the Mark Hopkins Hotel in San Francisco. The dinner is sponsored by the AMA Council on postgraduate programs.

Invitations have been mailed to more than 2,000 persons, including scientific exhibitors, authors of papers, participants in the fourth Multiple Discipline Research Forum, section officers, chairmen, panelists, and distinguished guests. Gilson Colby Engel, MD, Philadelphia, vice-chairman of the Council, will serve as toastmaster.

Dinner speaker will be Morris Fishbein, MD, Chicago, former editor of The Journal. His subject will be "Fifty Years of Medical Progress."

Recipients of the AMA Distinguished Service Award and the Scientific Achievement Award will be honored at the dinner, as will guest lecturer William J. Darby, MD, of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Nashville, who was awarded the 1964 Joseph Goldberger Award in
