Appointments  Dorland J. Davis, MD, has been appointed director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, succeeding Justin M. Andrews, MD. As the new NIAID director, Davis will be responsible for research on infectious diseases and allergy, including studies in basic immunological problems of organ transplantation.Marc H. Hollender, MD, has assumed full-time professorship at the State University Medical Center at Syracuse, NY, and has resigned the directorship of the Syracuse Psychiatric Hospital. John Cumming, MD, faculty member at the State University Medical Center at Syracuse has been appointed director of the Syracuse Psychiatric Hospital.Leon Levintow, MD, currently assistant chief in the Cell Biology Section of the National Institutes of Health, has been appointed professor of microbiology at the San Francisco Medical Center, University of California.Clark E. Vincent, MD, was recently appointed to the faculty of the Bowman Gray School of Medicine as professor of sociology
