In the captions for the photos on p 27 of the Jan 26 issue, the parenthetical "left" and "right," which seemed to differentiate between individuals within the photos rather than between the photos themselves, should have been deleted. American medical student Ned N. Cowan is not an old woman of the Makonde tribe wearing a traditional wooden lip disk, and in the right-hand photo Dr. William Likoff of Hahnemann is not the unidentified gentleman at the right edge of the photo.
