In Reply: Mr Lubelski raises various issues demanding response. To be clear, we are not interested in mounting a defense of the MMI. Our fundamental purpose in conducting the research represented by this study was to better understand the advantages and limitations of selection strategies rather than to advocate for any particular approach. We do, however, believe that the discussion should be informed by decades of empirical evidence related to medical education specifically and decision-making more generally.
