To the Editor: Dr Preiss and colleagues1 demonstrated that intensive-dose statin therapy was associated with an increased risk of incident diabetes compared with moderate-dose therapy in a meta-analysis of randomized trials. These results add to their prior meta-analysis that demonstrated an association between randomization to statins vs control treatment and the development of diabetes.2
