Abstract

Errors occurred in the Original Contribution entitled "Lymphocyte Subsets in Healthy Children During the First 5 Years of Life," published in the March 18, 1992, issue of The Journal (1992;267:1484-1488). On page 1485, the three centered equations should have read as follows:

PRC=T-1{average [T(X)]±1.645s[T(X)]}

where s stands for the usual estimate of standard deviation

T(X) is the chosen transformation to gaussian distribution,

Also on page 1485, in the third column after the third centered equation, the second and third sentences should have read as follows: "Hence, the standard deviation of the fifth (or 95th) percentile is 1.534σ/[unk] and an approximate 95th confidence interval on the transformed scale is PRC±3.01σ/[unk]. This confidence interval was then transformed back to the original scale T-1{PRC±3.01σ/[unk]}."
