In Reply: We appreciate the comments of Drs Anghelescu and Regen regarding the TORDIA study. With respect to the switching strategy, we chose a conservative approach in this adolescent population rather than extrapolate from a strategy used in adults. Because our study was not placebo-controlled, the results from TORDIA cannot directly address the question of suicidality and antidepressant use. However, prospective studies specifically designed to address this issue are warranted.
