Illegal Internet Drug Sales

JAMA. 2008;300(23):2717. doi:10.1001/jama.2008.847

An operation by regulatory agencies in 10 countries, working with the international police organization Interpol, raided a number of businesses suspected of conducting illegal sales of medicines over the Internet, officials announced on November 13 (http://www.interpol.int/Public/ICPO/PressReleases/PR2008/PR200863.asp).

The operation, code-named Pangea, focused on persons associated with Internet sites that illegally sell and supply unlicensed or prescription medicines purported to treat conditions such as diabetes, impotence, and hair loss.
