In an effort to explore the relationship between cancer susceptibility genes and environmental factors, the National Cancer Institute (NCI) is developing an innovative national Cancer Genetics Network to foster collaborative research and the integration of research findings into medical practice. The new network is expected to provide participating researchers access to a breadth of research data, potential study participants, and human tissue samples not currently available to most individual cancer genetics programs.
