The FDA has issued a final rule that substantially expands the indications and other information in the professional labeling for aspirin, buffered aspirin, and aspirin in combination with antacid drug products. The new aspirin professional labeling provides complete updated prescribing information for practitioners. The professional information is consolidated in a format similar to that required for prescription drugs, with complete information on such matters as adverse reactions, recommended dosages for specific indications, and drug interactions.
