For many physicians, the chance to update one's knowledge using new and potentially more exciting media opportunities is hard to pass up. I approached this interactive, case-based CD-ROM with great enthusiasm and was generally rewarded with the promised "innovative learning experience."

Essentials in Gastroenterology I: Peptic Ulcer, Inflammatory Bowel Disease is part of the series of interactive, case-based multimedia computer programs produced by the British Royal College of Physicians and the Royal Society of Medicine. Financial sponsorship was provided through an educational grant from GlaxoWellcome (which produces at least two of the medications recommended in the case studies).
