This guide to examination and injection of joints extracts these important topics from the larger and more comprehensive rheumatologic texts. As such, it should provide instruction for experienced and uninitiated clinicians alike, especially as it competes with several older books detailing injection techniques or examinations, albeit in separate volumes. In format, however, it is too large to be a vade mecum; better a smaller version that would fit into a laboratory coat pocket. Amply provided with drawn illustrations, it nevertheless fails at its mission.
