This textbook of reproductive endocrinology and infertility now appears in its second edition. Through its comprehensive approach, Textbook of Reproductive Medicine joins the ranks of major textbooks in its field.
As in the first edition, the editors have authored or coauthored many of the chapters—nine in Dr Blackwell's case, four in Dr Carr's—providing consistency in organization and style. The book also benefits greatly from the expertise of the 42 individual contributors. Particularly outstanding chapters include "Diagnosis and Management of Endometriosis," by Michael Guarnaccia and David Olive, "Hirsutism and Virilism," by Rogerio Lobo, and "Psychological Aspects of Menstruation," by Robert Reid. These chapters provide excellent reviews that are clinically applicable to the practice of the obstetrician-gynecologist but comprehensive enough to satisfy the subspecialist.
