To the Editor: In his detailed discussion, Dr Grimes1 never mentioned that abortion might have a moral dimension. The closest he came was when he noted that some residents in obstetrics and gynecology training programs opt out of abortion training "for reasons of conscience." But he immediately undercuts this by continuing in the same sentence, "while others decline participation because, without alternative duties, it may lighten their workload." I submit that virtually all those who opt out of abortion training do so on moral grounds.
