A private, nonprofit hospital in São Paulo, Brazil, is the first to be independently accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI).

Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein is a 410-bed facility that provides complete clinical medical services, including pediatrics, oncology, emergency services, surgical procedures, intensive care, and obstetrics. A team of health care experts evaluated compliance with international quality standards during a 4-day on-site visit last December.
