Paul Thagard is professor of philosophy and director of the Cognitive Science Program at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. He has written several monographs and articles with titles such as "Computational Philosophy of Science" and "Mind: Introduction to Cognitive Science." Professor Thagard also has a web site that he mentions in this book: Clearly, the author is a noted scholar in his field. It is therefore with some temerity that I, a retired physician-scientist, comment on his latest book. Nevertheless, these are my thoughts.
