The current edition of Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation, edited by Drs Thomas, Blume and Forman, is a comprehensive detailed textbook on hematopoietic stem cell transplantation or hematopoietic progenitor cell transplantation, better known as bone marrow transplantation (allogenic [matched related donor, matched unrelated donor, cord blood] and autologous). The difficulty that any editor or editors have with specialized text books is that, while attempting to provide an authoritative and comprehensive text, portions will invariably become out of date by the time of publication.
