edited by Jerome Engel, Jr, and Timothy A. Pedley, one CD-ROM, requirements: 486 processor or higher, 8MB RAM, 2MB free hard disk space, Macintosh: System 6.8 or higher, or Windows 3.1 or higher, $399, ISBN 0-7817-1840-6, Philadelphia, Pa, Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, 1999.
This CD-ROM is the electronic version of the exhaustive three-volume Epilepsy: A Comprehensive Text, edited by Engel and Pedley. When I reviewed that text in these pages (June 17, 1998), I wrote that it was the definitive text about epilepsy and seizures and the finest, most exhaustive resource on the subject I had ever seen. Since the entire text is replicated on this CD, those comments are still true. Furthermore, the CD provides topical entry to MEDLINE for literature searching, so it adds a dimension that a book cannot provide. Obviously the CD is more portable, too.
