With 92 contributing authors, Dr Sternberg and his associate editors have given us this third edition of Diagnostic Surgical Pathology, intended as a working companion beside the reader's microscope. The text is a monumental work, which admirably fulfills that goal.
It has been five years since the second edition was issued, and the authors have included much of the "newest and latest" in the enormous field of diagnostic surgical pathology. "Practical" molecular pathology and useful immunohistochemistry are both significantly updated in this latest edition. The Revised European-American Classification of Lymphoid Neoplasms (the REAL classification), a current classification of urothelial neoplasms, and an updated discussion of mammary ductal in-situ carcinoma are among the many new and important additions found in this text.
