Nicotine & Tobacco Research aims to publish original research, conceptual articles, and reviews on the broad range of topics related to the title subject. The journal's multidisciplinary approach is exemplified by its inclusion of research that ranges from molecular biology to epidemiology and prevention.
The journal is published for the Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco, whose international membership includes many luminaries in tobacco research. The editorial staff includes nationally and internationally prominent researchers with proven expertise in the area of tobacco and nicotine research. The editor-in-chief and the six associate editors are located at US universities; however, the international mission of the journal is evident in an International Advisory Board representing eight different nations, including Poland, Japan, and Australia. The advisory group's task is to encourage researchers from the international community to submit their work to the journal. However, to date, most of the published articles feature research conducted in North America.
