Health Promotion Practice is a new professional journal providing practical information for those involved in public health and health promotion and education. It is an official publication of the Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE). While its primary audience is practitioners, the journal aims also to provide information to those developing and administering public health policy and programs.
The format of the journal is consistent with its mission statement. Approximately half of each issue is devoted to professional development. Brief and practical columns are published under headings such as "Tools of the Trade," "Career Development," and "Circle of Research and Practice." Following a section that includes book and media reviews and occasional interviews, five or six research and review articles are published in each issue. Tables and diagrams are formatted effectively to complement the text. Society announcements and continuing education information are provided in each issue.
