While some might suggest a narrower meaning, the term "surgical research" is best defined as research performed by surgeons. Thus, surgical research is an extremely broad field, and the resources to help one navigate it must span a wide range of topics. To date, there have been no good reference works specifically designed for surgeons pursuing investigative careers, particularly those just starting out. Surgical Research answers exactly such a need. The list of contributors serves as a Who's Who of US surgical research today. The editors have brought together a pool of incredible talent to make each chapter a current, valuable reference work.
