In Reviews in Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders, editor Derek LeRoith is launching a new review journal to appeal to clinicians and researchers. LeRoith has assembled an international editorial board and contributing authors who are recognized experts in their fields. The editor has chosen to provide readers with concise review articles that will be "limited in size for easy reading"; most articles are 8 to 10 pages long.
Each issue is devoted to a single topic, and some topics extend over several issues. The three issues that we reviewed are devoted to the endocrinology of bone disease, including 20 clinical articles (eg, Paget disease, hyperparathyroidism, and familial hypocalciuric hypercalcemia) and 13 basic science articles (eg, the molecular nature of the vitamin D receptor, regulation of osteoblast formation, and growth regulatory factors of bone).
