The 11th edition of this well-known text has a new editor, new format, and completely reorganized and expanded text. Originally published in 1933, the book has flourished over the years, first with Russell Brain and then with John Walton as its sole author. In the last edition (published in 1993), however, it became a multiauthored text edited by Walton. With this new edition, the baton has been passed, and Michael Donaghy, a clinical neurologist working at the University of Oxford, has assumed the role of editor. Together with 13 other distinguished British neurologists and neurosurgeons, he has revitalized this textbook, producing an outstanding volume that is clearly written, comprehensive, and authoritative.
