Head and Neck Surgery–Otolaryngology was first published in 1991 and revised in a second edition in 1996. The third edition is again improved and represents an excellent textbook. The accompanying second edition of the Atlas of Head and Neck Surgery–Otolaryngology is linked to the text by common editors and medical illustrators. This frequent updating of a major compendium is due to the commendable persuasive skills of the section editors and willingness of the authors to review and improve their work.
