The FDA has revised its Small Scientific Conferences Grant Program for meetings designed to coordinate, exchange, and disseminate information when the objectives are clearly within the scope of the agency's public health mission. The FDA's policy is to provide maximum flexibility regarding the type of meetings to be supported, and to participate with other organizations rather than providing sole support.
The revisions include a change in award range from $2000-$17 000 to $1000-$25 000; addition of faith-based organizations to the public and private scientific and professional entities that are eligible; and citation of ineligibility of organizations engaged in lobbying. For description of the revised program, including submission requirements, review procedures and criteria, and format of application, see http://www.fda.gov/oc/ofacs/grants.
