Workplace Partnership Boosts Screening for Colorectal Cancer

Colorectal cancer screening rates increased among employees at a Michigan health insurer through a partnership with the state’s cancer control coalition and funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The insurer, HealthPlus of Michigan, was among 8 organizations that participated in a 2012 project launched by the Michigan Cancer Consortium with CDC funds. The organizations aimed to evaluate their workplace wellness strategies, including ways to increase cancer screening rates.
