To the Editor: As one of the coauthors of the study by Féart et al,1 I read with great interest the accompanying Editorial by Dr Knopman,2 who drew a parallel between our findings about the effect of the Mediterranean diet on cognition in older adults and those of Dr Scarmeas and colleagues3 in the same issue. I particularly appreciated his prudent interpretation of the protective virtues attributed to diet that cannot be disentangled from lifelong preferences for a healthy lifestyle.
