The US Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA’s) oversight of many chemicals is hindered by a lack of adequate scientific information on their toxicity, in large part due to existing laws, said the Government Accountability Office in a report (http://www.gao.gov/new.items/d10292t.pdf) released on December 2 during a hearing of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works.
