HIV/AIDS in U.S. Communities of Color

JAMA. 2010;303(11):1099-1100. doi:10.1001/jama.2010.291

Valerie Stone and colleagues have gathered a series of presentations that attempt to address some of the unique issues in managing human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in the Latino, African American, Asian/Pacific Islander, American Indian, and Alaska Native populations. However, HIV infection in the latter 3 populations is addressed marginally and primarily in the context of charts/tables. Thus, almost all of the minority-oriented sections relate to Latinos and African Americans.
