The disease has taken a blitzkrieg turn:
synapses at the bottom of his cortex
seize as neurons thicken to dark sludge.

What seemed a stiff knee is now a jester’s dip
and lurch, his elbows flap permissionless.
Wild rhythms mortify him, his eyes widen
