To the Editor: Dr Perera and colleagues1 investigated whether routine IABP counterpulsation before PCI would reduce major adverse events in patients with extensive coronary disease. In this study the area at risk was estimated by the BCIS-1 Jeopardy Score, ascribing 2 points for each the 6 myocardial territories.2 This scoring system uses only 2 coronary circulation types: left and right dominant.
