Dr Clayman is Contributing Editor, JAMA.
In 19951 and in 1997,2
THE JOURNAL devoted a full issue to articles on various aspects of cancer
research, diagnosis, and treatment, including its genetic basis, environmental
factors, preventive measures, epidemiology, chemotherapy, immunomodulation,
gene therapy, end-of-life issues, as well as analyses of ethics, social policy,
and economics of cancer care. With the explosion of reports of new approaches
for cancer prevention and treatment in the past year, the editors of JAMA
have planned another theme issue on cancer for early 1999.
