The rhesus model was a big success,
Perhaps a breakthrough in biology.
Debate about the toxicology
Reminded us of our unhappiness
With errors made in the ELISA test.
Someone suggested a facility
Connected with the university
That he assured us was among the best.
He said, "I've never seen the chimpanzees
So pampered or such calm and clean baboons.
You know, they even have their own TVs."
We laughed. He added, "They prefer cartoons."
I saw them watching human fantasies
While killing time on rainy afternoons.
