New recommendations for the treatment of myocardial infarction (MI) are being distributed on the Internet before they fill the pages of two major medical journals.
"This marks the first time we've updated guidelines using the Internet," said Thomas J. Ryan, MD, chair of a joint committee of the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association, which developed the guidelines. "The pace of new knowledge drove our decision to reevaluate available diagnostic and treatment possibilities."
